Lots of Short Reviews
Hmm, many things happened while I abandoned this blog, both good and bad things. Though, the bad ones are overshadowing the good ones. So let’s start my return to this blog with writing my thoughts of several titles in short reviews, other than the ones that should getting their dedicated posts and haven’t been reviewed properly by the others.
So how long has it been since I write new post, 4 months? Wow, I really need to update this blog. Well as some of you knows, I’m quite busy with my job recently and unable to write any new post, but I still able to spend my time to look up and read others blog and write comments there. And as a matter of fact, actually I already finished writing several posts but I postponed to publish them out. No good reason for doing it really, I just don’t feel like it at that moment.
First one, Flyable Heart. Even up until now, I still didn’t catch any correlations between the title and the story whatsoever. The same also for the weird oracle (Suzuno) foreboding Syo’s misfortune. If they know that it’s bad to let Syo stranded in other dimension, why did they let him anyway? Instead of giving weird predictions, they should just tied him up and bring him to the school, unscratched. Not to mention that for Suzuno leaving Syo with Yui would even create even greater historical gap in the original world. Should I give a lesson about time-space continuum? Lesson one, you don’t mess with history, EVER! Lesson over.
Oh well, maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on them. Especially since they made a character with a rare persona in the history of eroge. Shirasagi Mayuri is love! Just a moment ago, flashed in my mind that Sayuri would prove to be better name, if you get what I mean. I’m still unsure about the duality thing between Syo and Yui, whether they are dimensional twins or dimensionally exact person which absorbs other genetic matter any change their sex type. Both the music and arts are good, it’s just the pinks really poison your eyes. I recommended to play this for the sole reason of Sa-uh, Mayuri.
Second, Shinigami no Kisu wa Wakare no Aji. Again, the title makes little sense since technically there’s no kiss from any shinigami included, since Kohaku/Hiyori is no longer a shinigame when she kissed Makoto. So not even the title is long, its also irrelevant. It’s pretty short but the story is alright, I guess. Though it’s pitiful for Rin not to get a route of her own. Adding Yandere attribute for this title would surely raises the title’s name into the fanbase.
Actually, the highlight for this title should be pointed at Shizuku for being such a sweet tsundere imouto, unrelated one. I found it funny that the nico users even marked this title as imouto-ge. Yeah, you need to play this even only for Shizuku, though her route leaves me with a big question mark in my head.
Next one is Baldr Sky. My, how I really missed the digital world. Fighting viruses, bugs, and other player in digital world is quite cool. Megaman Battle Network series from GBA is making full use of this concept and doing great, until they turn it into one of those pokemon variants. I wonder why I haven’t heard about any online game that utilizes this kind of concept. Woops, let’s return to the topic here. Baldr Sky sure got a good concept, though I won’t make any judgements about how good the battle system is since I thought it was just fine, nothing spectaculous.
It’s pretty good story-wise too. Though since they have only give us the first half of the whole story, again, I’m unable to deliver my final judgement. The individual route itself is good with their own respective heroines. But the main highlight of the story is more about the mystery behind the day when the Gungnir is shot to the city, incinerating countless people. I got a little worry about some parts of the story which point that the world is a fake world, which re-emulated numerous of times. Really bad idea, I say. If it really happens, then I will write a specially dedicated post for ranting it.
Up next, WLO – World Love Organization. I’m not gonna write much about this outrageous title for having such a pointless plot and a really long one at it. Heck, even I unable to finish even one route due to my patience running out, switching to other routes hoping for better story. I play only first three out of six total of route available before I call it quit. I thought that the ones able to write such pointless, overdrawn story are the film series writers from my country, but I was proved to be wrong. So just as I stopped watching film on my television, I too, stopped playing this title, which is a rarity since I finish every single title I play almost all the time without alternating between other titles. Oh right, I also should mention that Chiriko and Sarasa’s seiyuu voice is just awful. Chiriko’s voice is just like the seiyuu got a running nose or she really is closing her nose while talking and Sarasa’s seiyuu is like having a fishbone down her throat. But I found out a horrible truth, people actually love this! Many votes for bishoujo games award go to this title and it even got a fandisk in production, featuring the original heroine plus every single female character capturable totaling for almost 20 character! What a nightmare! Is this a Da Capo viruses variant running amok once more? I even write more than I thought I would. If future eroges would be the same nightmare with the film series from my country, then I would stop playing new eroges and start to trace back my backlogs.
Next, Valkyrie Complex. Shameless battle systems for being so old, uninnovative and super slow. I haven’t gone far with the story, annoyed with the battle systems and bad voice acting too. Since Tenshin Ranman is out at the same month, I switched to it. If anyone can convince me that this is a good title (Or secret route for Maple), I might be willing to continue to play it. Otherwise, let’s rant together.
The final of this short reviews, Tenshin Ranman. Many of us highly anticipated for this title. It turned out that this is just mediocre title, just like the previous Natsuzora Kanata. Maybe Yuzusoft is gradually losing their touches from their former titles Braban! and ExE, which the story is just okay but still, less boring than the latter titles. The worthy route to be played is only Sakuya (though her latter part of story is quite boring), Mahiro and Yukari. I almost fell asleep during Ruri, Sana, and Aoi’s stories. Fortunately, the story quickly ended before it turned to be another WLO. It’s questionable when I found the secondary heroines story are better than the main ones. While I start to play this I feel the bad presentiment to the shadow loomings over eroge. Let’s just describe that I saw dark clouds and heard the voices of lightnings when I notice a certain sentence, ‘JAPAN SALES ONLY’. I felt uneasy about the sentence but wonder at the same time too. Why did they use English for the particular part while the former sentences are in Japanese? Mystery, fluke or just another case of Engrish? You decide.
I guess it’s enough for me to write for this post. I just hope that I got the spirit to write the remaining post that still lurking in my computer. Until next time.

Why in the world do titles need to make sense? Soap operas follow this rule all the time.
I won’t deny Shizuku’s overwhelming influence but my heart for the lolis is unwavered and will forever be a Kohaku faithful.
Megaman Battle Network 1 and 2 were awesome. 3 was okay. The rest were cash cows.
I must be the only one I know who did not fall asleep in Aoi’s route.
WLO was good. Dammit. Well it’s not for everyone though. Maybe because I have the perseverance of stone lol.
And Natsuzora Kanata was wayyyyyy better than tenshin ranman. Wayyyyyy better.
@m3rryweather: Titles may not necessarily need to make sense. But at least they should try to make it represents the whole story. And it would take a very skilled writer to create something that the title would only make sense only when we had finished reading the whole story.
A little correction, since I played Aoi’s route on my fourth playthrough, rather than feeling sleepy, I’m pretty much desperately begging that it would end quickly.
@Accany: More than stone perseverance, you might as well be thickheaded to be able to endure WLO.
Ah! A post!
I think Zen and I both agreed that VC was pretty bad. I personally liked Tenshin, but maybe Sana was a factor in that. I’d recommend playing FH for everything except for Mayuri.
And we both have Hoshimemo SD chars on the sidebar lol
Yay! You finally revived your blog! I haven’t touched the games you mentioned much so I can’t really comment on them but I look forward to your posts. ^_^
Nice, revival just when I come visiting. *thumbs up*
Gah, flood of VNs. Just got into it and so much to catch up on~
